Chad Waters, Founder/CEO
With over 25 years of experience in the real estate and development industries, Chad combines proven strategies and progressive visions to create smarter, more sustainable solutions for building in Hawaii.
During his downtime, Chad enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends and strives for a good work/life balance. He looks for inspiration from nature when hiking, standup paddling, and canoe paddling.
Phap Vu, D. Arch.
Phap has a Doctorate of Architecture and has been working professionally in the field for more than 4 years. His thesis for his D.Arch degree focused on floating architecture as a mitigation strategy for sea-level rise in Hawaii, and he is passionate about sustainable design and development.
Growing up in rural Vietnam, Phap first became interested in architecture at a young age, and as a teenager, he helped his father design and build their family home from the ground-up. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, swimming, surfing, and all other ocean activities.
Mark Nardini, AIA
Mark Nardini A.I.A. is a Multi National Award Winning A.I.B.D. Designer and an Alaska, Hawaii & A.I.A. Registered Professional Architect. He has designed various projects from Dead Horse-Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to Loreto Bay, Baja Sur Mexico.
Mark’s design capabilities are enhanced by an impressive array of CADD skills; based on his electronics education, acquired in the United States Navy. Combined with his decades of experience dealing with Building Codes, Zoning, Construction Materials and Methods, he stays on the leading edge of architectural technology.
He exerts enthusiasm that is contagious to all of his team mates. He shares his knowledge and trade secrets. He is quick to mentor and learn from colleagues, builders, and clients.
Khoa Nguyen, D. Arch.
Khoa earned a Doctor of Architecture degree from the University of Hawaii, Mānoa in May 2020. .
Terry Hart, Development Consultant
As a serial entrepreneur & educator for over 30 years, Terry is a consummate communicator, intermediator, & astute identifier of new market opportunities.
Prior to joining HCDC, Terry's diverse work bio includes roles as a Film Columnist, Hawaii Tribune-Herald (Hilo); ESL Teacher + DJ (Hilo & Okayama, Japan); Executive Assistant to GM, Hazama Ando Hawaii (Japan's 5th largest construction firm); Int'l Marketing Director, Safe Water Systems (Hawaii, inventors of Solar Water Pasteurizers); High-End Audio Importer (Italia & China); & Business Research Director, Galaxy Magnesium (Global)
Terry is an avid tennis player, Premier League Football fanatic, movie aficionado, and obsessive curator of every genre of music. Terry is a Demon Deacon, with a BA in English from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC.
René Julian, Development Consultant
René is a local boy from the Big Island and currently resides here on Oahu. Growing up on the Big Island has taught him to live a sustainable and humble lifestyle. From water catchment, composting, farming, recycling and energy conservation, this was his lifestyle. The most valuable life lesson he grew up with was to always help people.
He has been in the energy industry for over 10 years. Starting in the solar energy industry as a project developer working on both residential and commercial sales. Then continuing his journey into the LED lighting industry as a commercial energy auditor. Pairing his past experiences with real estate development, René is looking forward to building sustainable and environmentally friendly homes for his community.
Celeste Guarin
Celeste is a graduate of the University of Hawaii School of Architecture. She received her Bachelors of Environmental Design in Dec 2019 while she was the President of the American Institution of Architecture Students Hawaii Chapter for the school year 2019-2020. During her time in school, she was a Teaching Assistant for several architecture courses as well as a Student Project Assistant for the UH Community Design Center.
In her free time, Celeste enjoys playing volleyball and badminton, cooking and baking new recipes, and learning new concepts regarding finance, the construction industry, and more.
