As we continue to move forward to affordable housing in Hawaii, we turn to Pearl City. We are building a new project in that will bring much-needed workforce housing to this area.

HCDC has been contracted by the land owner to design and construct a 25-unit workforce housing building, making use of the provisions set forth in Honolulu City Council’s Bill 7, the workforce housing bill passed in 2019. 

As with our other projects, Pohaku Hale will be built and operated using Net Zero principles, which means that the energy needs of the building will be offset by energy created, stored, and distributed on-site. This project is underway and will begin construction in Q1 of 2023, with a targeted completion of Q1 2024.
